Forum topic: Video transcoded multiple times

Hey all,
Just started using OpenPackage, as it is the only video module i could get to work with my multisite D5 install. Everything seems to be working great! Although i uploaded a video this morning, and checking back on the logs here, the video was transcoded 3 times and returned. I have cron set to run every 10 mins while I test, so i thought that might be the problem, but the videos were returned at intervals of 2 minutes. Any clues as to what might be causing this? Not a huge deal, but wasting 3 minutes over the life of a site might get costly.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hi Garrett.

Do you have curl available on your php install? If not, op_video uses a less reliable method for video transfer that could be causing your problems.

The site is on a 1and1 shared server. All i could find on their FAQs regarding curl is this: Libcurl-7.10.3. Does that info help at all? Im thinking with their shared server i probably dont get all the good stuff, but it's 1and1, so i just dont know.
